I didn't make the logo; that and Spyro himself, are (C) Activision...or whoever owns him. I simply own the design.
Now that the legal garbage is over, I can talk about the picture. I'm sure that a lot of Spyro fans were, like myself, frustrated at the fact that the guys who developed "Skylanders" (Toys For Bob) busted Spyro's overall design for that game; our beloved purple dragon looked more like an alien creature than the rambunctious fire-breather that we know and love.
While that wasn't the COMPLETE reason that I drew this, it is a part of it; the main reason was because I wanted to create a new Spyro, one that moreso fit the legendary dragon lore that "The Legend of" trilogy established (because I actually enjoyed those games). To prevent myself from looked like a classic freak, my favorite version of Spyro is actually the one from "A Hero's Tail".
I took most of the design inspiration of this picture from the original trilogy, including his sharp personality, but I also pulled inspiration from other, less likely places...like Capcom's "Monster Hunter" series, specifically the Kushala Daora (look it up). I didn't have to do much with Sparx's design after going off of his appearance in most artwork of him from Spyro 2.
This version of him appears in a series of fanfictions that I may start working on entitled the "Spyro the Dragon: HERO Edition" series, which is a retelling of Spyro 1, 2, and 3 with a focus on awesome action and off-the-wall humor.
PHEW!! Too much talking. Anyway, enjoy.
